#1 Weekly report, as arrived...

There is not much happend since we arrived, but we had some time to explore a little bit around, mostly the important things for us, to know where to go shopping food and so. Since it took some time to organise our room, it is time to take a look at it, it's too big, but fairly enough for two students. Unfortunately we arrived on Friday night, so we didn't have any chance to get internet in our apartment, so I'm using mobil data, what is quiete cheap compered to the hungarian prices, it's like 1/3 of it if you buy the worst data back, otherwise it's much more cheaper, and also the calls are way cheaper. Now I'll let you in our apartment, so take a look:
We did nothing special in the last few days, we were mostly sitting home, since the weather is quite vary, in a minute the sun is shining and just a few minutes later the rain or the snow starts to fall. So we only went out from the room when we wanted to shop some food. Mostly we were in the room and talking, playing some card games with our friends from the upper apartment, who are three beautiful girls, all of them speaks hungarian, but they are all from different countries, like Hungary, Romania (Transilvania) and Slovakia. Yesterday night there was a small birthday party where we joined in, but mostly we were talking with the person that we already knew, the "old" others weren't that open-minded or maybe they were just a bit tired, I cannot guess. And finally today, the girls from the upper apartment got a router from a previous owner, who've just left, so they have free internet till the end of march. During the night we found out we want to bake some pancakes, so we went to shop the ingredients with the guys and started to make it, but we failed at it, since the materials weren't the same like at home. Luckily one of the girls, Nia came down to help us and at least we were able to make enough to fill our empty tummies. :)
And as you might remember from my Erasmus blog, I am also started to make a follow up on my spending, so you can take a look at it here. I also give you some tips how to read it, where you can see the payed back, there's mostly the half of everything or 3rd part of it, since we bought it with my flatmate and/or with Szilveszter. So you can see the normal price just as before and you can also see the total of the spending of each week in the future in danish crones, hungarian forints and also euros.

Arrival

We had a long trip from Budapest Airport to Kolding city, and moreover 2 of us from the 4 of our group came from even further, like Slovakia and Romania. The plane took us to Copenhagen where we had plenty of time to catch our train, but first we had to take a train or subway, it seems the same here, to the central train station where we had to wait almost an hour. So while we were waiting we sit in a kind of juice&cafe bar to drink our very first danish café or in my case a fruit juice.
Afterwards we had a bit funny journey, because we had to change one time on the train and we had only 5 minutes for that! And our train was in a late, but luckily the other train was waiting for us at the station and wee also didn't have to search too much for it, since it was going from the very next track. Afterwards we arrived with a few minutes late to Kolding where our buddies were waiting for us and guide us to our apartments. They also gave us some fast intstructions and that was it, we arrived. As soon as we packed out and make us comfortable in our rooms we went out to explore a bit of the city and we also wanted to eat something. We had to ask some people to get in the right direction, but finally we found a place to eat some slices of pizzas. Afterwards we tried to find the place of the party which was for the IBA students who just got there degree and also for other IBA students, but we might arrived too early, 'coz at the place where it should be, they said there is a private party at the moment. And there are a lot more things to do for us, tomorrow!

From Thursday till Saturday, there was an exhibition in Budapest, called Edukáció, where most of the hungarian college's and university's show themselves to the crowd. Our college also been part of it and I've been there to promote us. This year we had a slightly bigger place and also there were more things shown, such as the Lego robots from the Engineering Department and also one of the company's we have relations with been there, and it was the Suzuki car company. On Friday I've been at the Tempus stand as well to promote the Erasmus program and answer some questions as a mentor for an hour. On the last day, most of us was a bit tired and bored, so we had to pass the time somehow and also it have been documented. :D

A new start, counting down!

Dear my old and new blog readers,
If you were a former reader of my blog, you might recognized a change in the blog's url name and title, it is because I didn't want to start a new blog for my new studying abroud in the EU experience, which will start very soon in less than 2 weeks. As you might know I've been studying for one semester at Vives Hogeschool in Kortrijk, Belgium. This time I'll go with another type of scholarship, it's called the Velux program, it is similar to Erasmus, but also very different, you will hear about it later on. The destination is Kolding in Denmark, a similar, small city like Kortrijk in Belgium as far as I know, but there is a lot to explore since I'm not there yet!
You might also know as a former reader or from looking back on the blog I made a post everyday from Belgium, it will change this time, because you could see the quality of the posts were really different... I would rather post only a few times a week, but make some colourful and storytelling posts what will make it more enjoyable to read and to feel the experiences I had.
Coca Cola says it's the happiest country in the world, so I must go there!
For sure, it wasn't my motivation to go there till I found this picture right a moment ago... :D
Anyway, get back to the topic, as I mentioned before it is a similar scholarship to Erasmus, but also different, let's see what are these... At least let's see the one's I could know before the arrival. First of all, it had a longer process to get the scholarship, there was a little more paperwork, they were interested in many things, not only in our motivation, school performance and so, but also our bacgkround and family status. After all that they made a personal interview too, and one of their profesor came to Hungary just for that, so you can see from that how important thing is it for them. A little time passed by and we got know the results, then we got an invitaion for a virtual conference with our coordinators from Denmark to gave us some information and we also had the chance to get know eachother, moreover they invite us to join some Facebook groups for the former, actual and upcoming students. Most of the students come from Central or Eastern Europe countries, since the scholarship is advertised especially for them, and of course, I won't hide it, one of my colleuges is coming too! =)
Last Friday we finally got know how we will be split in the apartments, there won't be any single rooms, so yeah a new chellange for me is having a roommate! However it isn't that new after the summer spent in a US camp, but still a different situation! So, I will have a Romanian boy as a roommate. No, it is not a problem at all, you know me, right? I have a Romanian girl as my best friend from the Erasmus time, remember? Yeah, that's right! So I can just wish the bests and hopefully we will enjoy eachother's company for the time we have to spend together. :)
Just 12 days and we will start our journey...
