Saturday morning we woke up at 8 AM, to do some shopping to make sandwiches for the trip. Then we have our breakfast and made a total of 10 sandwiches. We met up with Manu at aorund 9.35 at her place to go to the bus station together and we met the other girls there at around 9.50. The bus was already full, since it was coming from other cities, so we didn't have the chance to sit together. During the way the weather didn't look so good, as long while we were crossing the bridge we could barely see anything because of the fog. Luckily as we arrived to Copenhagen the sky became blue and the sun was shining, and even it was not that cold outside.
We arrived a little bit early
to the hotel for check-in, but the recepcionist could offer us 2 rooms
that we booked, but on different floors, we agreed on it is okay for
us. When we entered the rooms were so tiny, but we had everything what we needed, comfortably beds, private bathroom and towels etc. So we packed out and got ready to walk around the city. We started
at around 2 PM, as first we went in the city center to the main shopping
street then we were passing by some bridges and got to the Vor Frelser
Kirke, which church is famous about it twisted tower, however we could
not go in to get in the top, because the queue was so long and also it
was closing as early as 4, too bad. Afterwards we went through the city
and crossing by many famous and nice buildings such as the Amalienborg
Slot, the queen's castle, the Rosenborg Slot, another castle for the
royal family. We also went out to the Kastellet and to the little
mermaid, yeah it was really small, almost like the manneken pis in
Brussels.
Then we were just going through the city again to meet up with Miriam's
friend to have dinner. Afterwarrds we went back to the hotel to get a
pre-party and go out to a club to enjoy the night life of Copenhagen.
The club where we went was soo far from our place, so we had to take a
bus, and on the way back the buses weren't that frequent so we took an
Uber instead, it was still cheaper then a taxi and for four of us it
didn't cost much more than the bus, exactly without having disounted
tickets.
In the morning the waking up was a little bit hard, however we didn't leave much things to do or to see. The austrian girls wanted to go shopping, so we split into two groups and with Dusana and Daniel we went to look for some places what we still wanted to see. First we visited a coffee shop which is so unique in the city, but unfortunately it wasn't open. Then we went in to the Guinness World's Record Museum, which was a little bit old school, I mean the idea of it is great and they had a lot of amazing things, but most of the machines they had and the videos they played were outdated or in bad quality. Overall it was nice to see many kind of records that people made.
We went to the queen's garden where they used to grow fruits, vegetables
and flowers for the royal family in the previous centuries. It was
nice, however we should go back to see in colors, because all we could
see was a lot of naked trees without any leaves or flowers. Afterwards
we went in the Botanic Garden to warm up and to wonder around some rare
spices of the flora.
And then we headed back to the city center to meet up with the other girls and Miriam's friend to have some lunch and buy some souvenirs. As we finished with it we had to rush back to the hotel to take our lugagges and hurry to the bus station to catch our bus back to Kolding. We were just in time and arrived back to Kolding at a dark evening around 8 PM. Then we walked back home and got ready for tomorrow to have our project week started and work with GlobStrat all week long...
